Saqqara Dogs

Here'a a great band comprised of Chris Cunningham (aka Sync 66) on Chapman Stick, Hearn Gadbois playing Dumbek, and Bond Bergland on Electric Guitar. However, this song departs from their usual lineup. They add Hearn Gadbois' body percussion, and an African Kalimba. Beautifully loud, overdriven guitars are throughout.

This session was marked by lots studio experimentation. On one instance, we built a "shack" of guitar amps cranked to 11 and put a mic inside. I recorded the dumbek with a lavaliere mic suspended in the throat of the instrument giving a huge bottom to the recording. What you may be hearing as a drum kit is nothing more than an inventively miced dumbek.
