The arranger of all these spots was Kenny Ascher—the same guy who co-wrote "Rainbow Connection" with Paul Williams.

In the world of advertising, this was really a big deal. Diet Coke was to be the first product to have the Coke name as part of it's own since Coca-Cola was first produced. Nonetheless, the initial "Introducing Diet Coke" recording date was delayed by a few days to accommodate Liz's and my honeymoon.
