Steve Tyrell

In 2005, Steve Tyrell was asked to fill the vacancy at New York's swanky Cafe Carlyle left empty by the passing of legendary singer Bobby Short. Two years later, we crammed a full 24 input Pro Tools rig, and all the extraneous gear we needed into the confining spaces of the Carlyle and proceeded to record a week's worth of shows.
Time passed as Steve reviewed all the performances. He chose wisely. This CD is a fun filled, finger popping record of some wonderful performances of these songs, and this band. Bob Mann's arrangements sparkle.
Written by Isham Jones and Gus Kahn in 1924, Steve tells the "real" story of how this song came to be.
