Grace Vigeant

Over the past few years, my daughter Grace Vigeant and I have tossed around this atypically high energy arrangement of Adolphe Adam's "O Holy Night" – and many times performed it live at Dobbs Ferry’s South Presbyterian Church's Christmas Eve service.

As luck would have it, we decided early in 2020 that THIS would be the year to record it. As luck would have it (again) the weekend before COVID shut down NYC, she and I got together to record the vocals.

As of January 2021, she & I haven't made music in the same room since.

Of course, I couldn't just leave the recording be at just acoustic guitar & solo vocals;-) I even have my friend & colleague John Patitucci playing upright bass:-)

To say the least, 2020’s been a challenging year. But it does appear that a light is now getting brighter at the end of the proverbial tunnel. It is in this spirit that I want to share this with you all.

Yeah - I know - it's specifically Christmas aligned. But I sincerely hope that you perceive this song as I do - as a joyous, celebratory, life affirming, forward looking song about the "thrill of hope".
